Rental terms

These terms apply to vehicle hire from Autos House Rental. A signed agreement at collection sits on top of this page if the two differ on a specific hire.

1. Booking

An online request is an offer. The hire is confirmed when staff change the booking to confirmed and notify you. We may decline a request if the car is not free, the driver does not meet age or licence rules, or payment cannot be arranged.

2. Driver

The named driver must hold a valid full licence. Additional drivers must be declared and paid for. The car must not be used for racing, towing (unless agreed), sub-hire, or illegal activity.

3. Charges

The daily rate covers the vehicle for the booked dates. Fuel is not included. Optional extras are charged per day. A security hold may be taken on a payment card. Extra days, missing fuel, damage, cleaning beyond normal use, tolls, parking, and fines are payable by the hirer.

4. Insurance

Basic cover is included subject to excess. Full cover extra reduces excess as described at booking. Cover may not apply if terms are broken (unlisted driver, alcohol, off-road where prohibited).

5. Collection and return

Return the car on time, to the agreed point, with the agreed fuel band, and with all keys and documents. Late return may be charged as extra days. Report accidents to us and to the police where required.

6. Cancellation

Cancel a pending request at any time. Confirmed hires cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged one day. No-shows may be charged the first day.
